Why would you like to represent the tribe as Miss Siletz, Jr. Miss Siletz, or Little
Miss Siletz?
8. You must be willing, by your behavior, to present the tribe in the best pos­
sible manner.
9. You are expected to show good judgment and not participate in activities
that would bring adverse publicity to yourself or the tribe while you are a
member of the court.
10. When attending a scheduled function, all royalty will be in appropriate
attire/regalia, traditional or modern. The following is not considered appro­
priate attire - mini skirts, bare midriffs, low-cut shirts, and heavy makeup. If
you have body piercing (other than ears), it should be removed while attending
functions. If you have tattoos, they should be covered during functions.
I 1. Consequences for misconduct will include, but are not limited to, verbal
warnings, written warnings, reduction or suspension of mileage reimburse­
ment for three events, reduction or suspension of out-of-state travel paid for,
parent or Royalty Court member giving verbal or written apology, and in
severe cases, removal of title and crown permanently. The Royalty Advisors
and Pow-Wow Committee reserve the right to discuss and administer disci­
pline, depending on severity.
12. The above guidelines apply to each candidate. If not honored, you will be
disqualified from the court and forfeit any title won.
13. There may be other requirements not mentioned in these guidelines. If other
requirements are imposed on the court, you will be notified in advance and
will be required to follow them.
By my signature, I verify that I have received and read a copy of the “Guide­
lines of Royalty” and “Royalty Travel Schedule” and accept the responsibility
set forth by these guidelines.

Guidelines of Royalty

Candidates must be enrolled Siletz Tribal members.
Candidates must be single with no dependents.
Candidates for Miss Siletz must be age 18 to 24.
Candidates for Jr. Miss Siletz must be age 13 to 17.
Candidates for Little Miss Siletz must be age 7 to 12.
These age requirements must be met by Sept. 1.
I. You must have a responsible adult sponsor who will be able to help you
attend designated organizational meetings, activities, parades, fund-raisers,
and scheduled appearances, unless a written request is submitted to the roy­
alty coordinator and the absence is excused in advance. These events are
listed in the royalty travel schedule.
2. You will be disqualified if you miss three scheduled events without cause
and the first-up will then perform your duties.
3. You must be drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free; any misconduct will result in
disqualification from the court.
4. If at any time you become pregnant, you will be disqualified from the court.
5. You are required to have complete regalia (traditional, fancy, or jingle).
6. You must be willing to dance at all pow-wows and scheduled events (assis­
tance with dance instruction will be available, if needed).
7. You must be willing to speak in public.
