CHINOOK WINDS CASINO RESORT Come to the Glass Float Ball Dust off your glass slippers and come to the seventh annual Glass Float Ball on Oct. 15 at Chinook Winds Casino Resort. The city of Lincoln City is proud to present the Glass Float Ball, an event to kick off the placement of 2006 hand crafted, signed, and numbered glass floats on the beaches in Lincoln City from Oct. 15, 2005. through Memorial Day 2006. Enjoy an elegant evening of dinner, glass art, dancing, great entertainment and a 2006 “Signature” Lincoln City glass float to take home for your future enjoy ment. This is also the opportunity to meet the glass artists who will create the 2006 hand-blown glass floats that will be placed for beachcombers to Find along the 7.5 miles of public beach in Lincoln City. The Glass Float Ball begins at 6:30 p.m. w ith glass floats, no-host cocktails, and a glass art silent auction. The plated dinner is served at 7:30 p.m. After dinner, get ready to dance to the music until midnight. Dress is semi-formal. Tickets are $70 per person and are available at the Lin coln City Visitor & Convention Bureau. Terminator Pumpkin at the Beach To help celebrate Halloween, Chi nook Winds Casino Resort will host a Terminator Pumpkin event on Oct. 22. This is the culmination of an annual pumpkin and other giant vegetable grow ing competition. The Northwest Giant Vegetable Growers Association has been holding this competition for five years. Chinook Winds displayed the winners from last year's competition in front of the casino, including the world record pumpkin. These things are huge! You can count on seeing a pumpkin weighing more than 1,000 pounds. The terminator will take place in front of the casino main entrance. The Senior Fair is free to the public and will be held in the convention center on Oct. 4-5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. During the two-day event. Chinook Winds will give away two vacations. The first, a trip for two to Hawaii, will be given away on Oct. 4. On Oct. 5, one lucky win ner will receive a cruise for two. Both days will feature a fashion show from Tanger Outlet Center and flu immu nizations will be administered by the Lin coln County Health Department. Life Gets Better with Extreme Dream Giveaway Chinook Winds Casino Resort is end ing the year with a seven-week promo tion - an Extreme Dream Home Makeover and a new car worth more than $ 100,000. A 2006 Mazda RX8 in a garage and a house half made over and the other half in shambles is on display in the casino lobby. An interior designer will decorate the inside of the house. A clock above the display counts down to the final drawing. With six weekly drawings on Fridays at 10 p.m., one winner will win a big screen TV and $250 if he/she has a Winner's Circle card. Four winners will win $100 and $125 if they are Winner's Circle members. Weekend sweeps will take place on Fridays at 3 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m. - if you hear music, you might win.
