The new Fresh Produce Program
has been implemented at both ware
houses and has been very well accepted
by our clients in both locations. It’s been
a challenge for staff to learn to order
and distribute the fresh fruits and veg
etables, but with the patience of our
clients, we are learning quickly.
We receive high quality produce
and have a great variety of products to
choose from, including Red Delicious
and Fuji apples, pears, oranges, zuc
chini squash, red and russet potatoes,
purple and yellow onions, cucumbers,
green peppers, celery, and carrots. We
also will get seasonal produce in the
coming months.

Thank you to Earl Littleton for the
great job he does for us at the Salem
warehouse. Earl volunteered for us
when we were very short-handed. He
baked us delicious cookies and also
prepared a pot of hot chili for our cli
ents, who really enjoyed it on a very
cold day. We appreciate everything he
does for us. Also thanks to Oscar
Norwest and Arlene Steggell for all the
help when we needed it.
If you would like to help us at our
Salem warehouse, it’s located at 2580
SE 19th St. in Salem, 503-391-5760.

Thank you to Maxine Rilatos for
preparing a dish for our clients in
October, great as usual.
Thank you to Jamiee Crowe and Vai
Hibdon, the Siletz 477 Self-Sufficiency
staff, for placing workers Robert
(Bobby) Brandt and Daniel Brown here
with us in Siletz.
They are really great workers and
are a big help when we receive monthly
shipments of more than 30,000 pounds
of multi-food products on the semi
trucks that we dismantle into the Siletz
warehouse and reload into our refrig
erated truck to ship to Salem. They also
help serve clients on a daily basis. They
are a great help in running the USDA
Distribution Program.
Please notice the change in distri
bution dates for the Siletz warehouse.
USDA offices will be closed Dec. 10
for the Siletz Tribal employees’ winter
all-staff meeting.
