CHINOOK WINDS CASINO RESORT Attend the Fantasy of Trees and Song of the Angels Holiday Ball Each year, Angels Anonymous, a local non-profit charitable foundation, holds “The Fantasy of Trees” and “The Song of the Angels” Holiday Ball, its major fund-raiser, at Chinook Winds Casino Resort. This year’s sixth annual event, on Dec. 2-4, will feature approximately 30 trees decorated and sponsored by local businesses and individuals who not only spend hours decorating them, but several hundred dollars in decorations as well. Over the past years, the themes of the individual trees have included Betty Boop, firemen, Harry Potter, chocolates, peacocks, roses, ballerinas, fishing, old- fashioned Christmas, hand-carved ornaments, and many trees splendidly trimmed in specific colors. Each year sees a wide variety of themes, sizes, and the prices that they bring. Decorating of the Christmas trees will begin Dec. 1 at noon. Sponsors have until noon on Dec. 2 to finish their trees and have them ready for viewing. Viewing and bidding will take place on Dec. 2 from noon to 6 p.m.; Dec. 3 from noon until 9 p.m.; and Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tree viewing is free, so bring the whole family to see these excep tional trees. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the Rogue River Room and the hotel restaurant will feature a choice of traditional slow-roasted turkey or honey-glazed ham dinners for $14.95 to $16.95. The Siletz Bay Buffet will feature a traditional buffet of sliced turkey, honey-glazed ham, and prime rib, plus the traditional holiday trimmings and Chinook Winds eggnog. Buffet hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Meals run from $14.50 (adults) to $7.50 (children age 5-11), no charge for chil dren age 4 and under, and senior prices at $1 off adult prices. On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, the Rogue River Room and the hotel restaurant will feature Filet Oscar (filet mignon topped with Dunge ness crab, asparagus, and sauce Bearnaise), with special salad, bread, dessert, and a glass of champagne or sparkling cider for $24.95. The Siletz Bay Buffet will feature a huge seafood buffet, plus tenderloin of beef, smoked pork loin, and slow- roasted prime rib, plus an assortment of soups, salads, and desserts. You can add a glass of champagne for just $1. Buffet dinner hours are 4:30 p.m. to midnight. Prices are the same as those listed for the Christmas buffet. Ring in the New Year with the Siletz Bay Buffet breakfast, featuring carved honey-roasted ham, omlets, French toast, cold breakfast bar, desserts, and add a glass of champagne for only $ 1. Hours are midnight to 4 a.m. Prices are $6.75 (adults), seniors $1 off adult price, kids age 4 and under are free, and children’s pricing is available.
