It’s Happening at Chinook Winds in September Laugh through Labor Day Weekend at Comedy on the Coast Summer on the Oregon coast. The sun is shining, the waves are crashing, and the Comedy on the Coast audience is laughing. That’s because all three comedians scheduled for the next Comedy on the Coast have been entertaining fans across the nation and in film and television. This Labor Day weekend, Kenny Bob Davis, Ron Kenney, and Tim Haldeman will entertain audiences on Sept. 3-5. Kenny Bob Davis is well acquaint ed with Oregon audiences. Recently, he opened for Larry Gatlin at the Lincoln County Fair and produced the first Pacific Northwest Comedy Competition. Davis started his career in show business as a guitar playing folk-singer in the ’60s. In 1978, thanks to Eddie Rabbitt, he started a new phase of his career by becoming an opening-act comedian. Since then, he has opened for Kenny Rogers, Alabama, and Larry Gatlin. Davis’ television and movie credits include Mad TV, Gremlins, and Murder She Wrote. Although Ron Kenney has been performing almost exclusively in Nevada the past few years, he has been a stand-up comedian for more than 20 years. In that time, he’s made folks laugh everywhere from colleges to cruise ships, and at just about every comedy club in the country. Kenney’s television appearances include Evening at the Improv, VH1, and MTV. Most recently, his first novel, The Comics Open, has earned raves from fellow comedians Louie Anderson and Buddy Hackett. Whether you know it or not, you have probably seen Tim Haldeman. The actor/stand-up comic has per formed in more than 100 television shows and movies. Among his many credits are appearances on The West Wing, Malcolm in the Middle, ER, The Drew Carey Show, Sabrina The Teenage Witch and 3 rd Rock From The Sun. Over the last decade, Haldeman has developed a stand-up routine that he has performed across the country, including at The Sahara in Las Vegas and at the Atlantis Hotel in Atlantic City. Comedy on the Coast begins at 8 p.m. for this age 21 and over event. Doors will open one half hour before each show. A no-host bar will be available. Show tickets, priced at $ 12, are available at the box office. Duke it Out with Rocky Come on down and duke it out with Rocky! September 2004 Styx Rock Music Legends Styx Live at Chinook Winds Casino Resort Fresh off an acclaimed performance at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, legendary rockers Styx will hit the stage Sept. 10-11 to bring its time-enduring hits to Chinook Winds Casino Resort. Styx is one of the great rock bands of the ’70s and ’80s with its stadium rock, power ballads, and concept albums. The band has sold more than 22 million albums over nearly 15 years and had seven top-10 singles, including Lady, Come Sail Away, Babe, Best Of Times, and Too Much Time On My Hands. Show time is 8 p.m. each night. Tickets range from $30 to $40. Nifty Sports Car Up for Grabs Chinook Winds Casino Resort is giving away a fantastic sports car, a Nissan 350Z, on Sept. 12,2004, at 4 p.m. The car is on display in the casino lobby. Entries to the drawing are based on slot play only. Entries can be dropped off in the drawing drum in front of the main cashiers’ area on the casino floor. Players will receive two entries for all lock-up jackpots and four entries for reportable jackpots. The number of entries will double if a Winner’s Circle card is inserted. On Sept. 12, 10 names will be drawn from the big drum. These 10 people will qualify to draw envelopes that contain prizes. All qualifiers will open their envelopes at once. One of the envelopes will contain a card that says they’ve won the car. The other winners will receive $100 each. You must be 21 or older to participate and must be present to win.
