Holiday Cash Giveaway!
Drawings will be hourly from 4 p.m.
to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays,
and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
Six drawings for $250 and one drawing
for $500 will take place each day. Stop

Fantasy of Trees, Angels Ball Return
Special Events
Entertainment
Each year, Angels Anonymous, a
local non-profit charitable foundation,
holds The Fantasy of Trees and The Song
of the Angels Holiday Ball, its major
fund-raiser, at Chinook Winds Casino.
This is the fifth year for this event,
which is co-sponsored by the casino.
This year, approximately 30 trees
will be decorated and sponsored by
local businesses and individuals who
not only spend hours decorating the
trees, but also several hundred dollars
in decorations as well. In past years, the
tree themes have included Betty Boop,
firemen, Harry Potter, chocolates,
peacocks, roses, ballerinas, fishing, old-
fashioned Christmas, hand-carved
ornaments, and many splendidly
trimmed in specific colors. Each year,
there’s a wide variety in the themes,
sizes, and prices that they bring.
The decorating of the Christmas
trees begins Dec. 3 at noon. Sponsors
have until the following noon to finish
their trees and ready them for viewing.

The convention center, adjacent
breakout rooms, and hallways have a
whole new look. In November, new
carpeting was laid and new paint
applied. The carpeting, in shades of
deep blue, green, and gray, was
specially designed to resemble a
Pendleton blanket motif. Walls painted
a pale green highlight the green in the
carpet and make the entire area appear
fresh and bright.
The gift shop, still located outside
the Bingo Hall, has been expanded to
nearly twice its former size just in time
for the holidays. Stop by and check
it out!

these exceptional trees. There’s no
admission fee. The final bidding takes
place at the Angels Ball on Dec. 6.
Featured entertainment for the
Angels Ball, which runs from 6 p.m.
until midnight, is Jamie’s Rock & Roll
Legends doing portrayals of Tom Jones,
Tina Turner, and Roy Orbison.
A highlight of the ball will be the
winning entrees from the first Chinook
Winds Ice Sculptor Carving Contest.
Chefs from across the U.S. will
compete and their creations will be on
display Dec. 6 along with the trees to
be auctioned. Numerous drawings,
special auction items, and gift boxes
filled with secret surprises from local
merchants also will be for sale.
Angels Ball tickets, which include
dinner, the show, and auction, are on
sale at the Lincoln City Chamber of
Commerce at 541-994-3070. Tickets
for the ball and plated dinner are $60; a
table of eight can be purchased for the
discounted price of $420.

Tuesday: Sign-ups start at 5 p.m.,

Sunday: Sign-ups start at noon,
play starts at 1 p.m.
Buy-in is $20; each guest receives
$1,000 in tournament chips. We play
15 hands. The two players with the most
money in chips will move on to a semi
final round. We offer one re-buy round
that’s played after the semi-final round.
The final table has seven finalists.
First-, second-, and third-place winners
receive value chips and the other four
receive dinner for two in the buffet.
If you place first, second, or third
in any one of the Sunday, Tuesday,
or Thursday tournaments, you qualify
for the Grand Tournament of
Champions on Dec. 13-14, 2003.
This tournament is a free $10,000
tournament with a banquet before play.
Chinook Winds offers $1,000 Blackjack limits, the highest
limits in the Pacific Northwest!
