Tribe Donates $97,081 to Community
The Siletz Tribal Charitable
Contribution Fund made another round
of distributions on May 8 at Chinook
Winds Casino & Convention Center.
Twenty-nine organizations shared
$97,081.99 in contributions, including
$28,512 for Toledo High School in
Toledo, Ore., to help reopen its health
clinic for the 2003-2004 school year.
The seven-member advisory board has
distributed more than $540,000 since
its inception in 2001

Cultural Activities

The Siletz Tribe is proud of its
contributions through employment,
monetary donations, and cooperative
measures to the Siletz community and
Lincoln County as a whole. The tribe
has honored its tradition of sharing
within the community by distributing
more than $1.6 million through the
Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution
Fund and other tribal resources.
Chinook Winds has donated more
than $400,000 in cash and fund-
raising items since it opened in 1995.
The casino also provides in-kind
donations of convention space for
various fund-raisers as well as technical
support, advertising, and manpower for
many events.
Eligibility for funds is limited to
two categories:
Education
Alsea Community Effort, Inc. - art supplies and other supplies
Newport High School - Law Classes and Mock Trial
OR Coast Comm. College - mannequin for health/nursing classes
Tenas Illahee Child Care Center - play area expenses
Writers on the Edge, Inc. - poetry writing and poetry performance

Olalla Center for Children & Families - play therapy equipment
Salvation Army-Tillamook Family Svcs. - buy food, esp. meat/protein

The Indian Child Welfare
Program is always looking for good
homes for children from all areas of
our 11 counties. ICW is seeking
foster homes as well as relative
homes for relative placements.
