Full Moon Mania Slot Tournaments There’s something to howl about in the coming months! To celebrate the full moon, a monthly slot tournament will be held with the sleepless in mind. The next tournament will be the Full Red Moon Tournament on Aug. 22, followed by the Full Harvest Moon Tournament on Sept. 21. Entry begins at 12 a.m. (midnight) and 6 a.m. Rounds take place every 20 minutes beginning at 12:20 a.m. and continuing until 2 a.m., and beginning again at 6:20 a.m. and continuing until 8 a.m. The prize round takes place at 8:30 a.m. Entry is free with a Winner’s Circle card; first come, first play. Prizes will be awarded from first to 12th place, with a top prize of $ 1,000 and a total prize pool of $2,800 (may be adjusted). Employees are not eligible to enter. Chinook Winds reserves the right to alter or cancel these tournaments at any time. Sunday Blackjack Tournaments Join the fun at the Sunday black jack tournaments. For an entry fee of $30, play with a possibility of winning $1,000! Tournaments begin at 1 p.m., with $2,000 in prize money guaranteed each tournament. Comedy Night on the Coast Chinook Winds Casino invites you to become hysterical, laugh until your sides ache, and giggle with uncontrolled glee at Comedy Night on the Coast. Because of the Rogue River Lounge’s great success every Thursday with once-a-week comedy from across the Northwest, casino management decided to go one step further with a total comedy experience in the convention center. Approximately every four weeks, on Friday and Saturday evenings, a trio of comedians will perform in ' 5 a 90-minute show. Each will do a 30-minute spot. The set °f perfor mances, held^**^^^ July 5 and 6 in a nightclubzgfcx/S^setting. were very well received. The secondComedy Night on the Coast is set for Aug. 30 and Sept. 1. Featured comedians include opener Mike Wally Walter, middle act Todd Parker, and headliner Pat Matteson. Doors open at 8 p.m., the show starts at 9 p.m. A no-host bar is available. Show tickets, priced at $10 in advance and $12 on the day of the show, are available at the box office. For a night full of chuckles, Chinook Winds is the place to be. Here’s your chance! Chinook Winds Casino invites you to “swing in the summer” at the monthly Big Band Swing Dance on Aug. 18. The dance will be held in Chinook Winds’ Convention Center, which August 2002 offers a huge dance floor with plenty of room to trip the light fantastic. The Coastal Swing Band will provide the music, featuring vocalist Jo Ann Jordan, formerly of the Harry James Orchestra. Doors open at 2 p.m. and couples will be offered the chance to brush up on their dancing skills with free dance lessons from to 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The dance is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and a no-host bar will be available. Tickets, available at the box office, are priced at $7 in advance or $10 the day of the dance. Guests who present their Winner’s Circle card will receive a 10 percent discount on their tickets.
