PASSAGES Congratulations, Alissa Lee Lane! Alissa graduates from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore., on *June 16, 2002. She has earned a bachelor of science degree in health Happy 21st Birthday, Laura, on promotion and education. We are very June 25! We love you. proud of you! Mom, Curt, and Jennifer Love, Dad, Mom, and Buddy Dear Brent: We are all very proud of you and your accomplishments. I know how hard you have worked to make your way through school. You told me once, “It is always good to want something.’’ I guess you meant that you work harder. You could help students entering higher education if you would share with them your problems and how you overcame them. Living on Top Ramen, I think, is usual for most higher ed students. I can remember when we brought you home from the hospital. You immediately blessed your Dad’s favorite blanket on the couch. Mom was changing your diaper and she said, “He can do anything he wants.” We have always tried to instill that thought into you, “You can do anything you want.” If you work hard enough, you can accomplish your goals. I believe in you and am proud to be your Mom. You are entering into a tough job market at this time. Remember, hardships make us stronger. We love you - Mom, Dad, Angela, Heather, Ashliegh, Cristian, all the Ben family, Rilatos family, Nelsons family, Hibdon family, Stuart family, Brandt family, Lynch family, and all the rest of our family Happy 40th Birthday to Brett Lane on June 17. With lots of love, your family Happy 49th Birthday to Patrick Pullam on June 3. Love you lots, Tina To a very special father - You are a very special father because you have been there every time that I needed you. You were there when I was born, when I broke my leg the first time and then when I broke my arm on the big rock on the beach, and when I graduated from high school and then college, and then for all my ups and downs. You have been and still are the best father that anyone could want and I'm the luckiest son in the world because you are my father. I love you. Happy Father's Day. Your son. Rick I want to thank everyone who supported me through treatment. I appreciate every one of you, especially my family. You guys have always been there for me - thank you. And a big thank you goes to Jennifer Knott - you are the greatest. You came through for me when I needed you the most and that’s what friends are for. Thank you for being my friend. I love you. Danelle Smith 24 □ Siletz News H Happy Birthday to Malik and Valentina Knott on June 26. Wow - you guys are getting so big and I love you. June 2002 Our dear daughter, sister, and beloved friend, Janice, lived for others. Isn’t this the greatest of all? In the word of God, we are asked by the Lord Jesus to love our neighbor as ourselves and do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Janice had given her life back to Jesus more than one year ago, as did her dear friend. Janice was our first daughter. Her daddy was so proud of her and she was a daddy’s girl. She also was Al and Maude Lane’s first granddaughter. She was so special to us, immensely so, beyond words. She was a mother and grandmother. Leon and Janice raised three children - Jennifer, Jason, and Willie Metcalf - and loved them greatly. Leon taught them sports, especially baseball, and they have become competitive, reliable with great character, and they make us proud. I'm sure they would desire the love and prayers of tribal members. Willie and Chuvonne have a baby boy who was such a special blessing in her life. Jennifer has seven beautiful babies we adore. God bless their precious lives, and Jason and Brandi have two children and are very happy. Thank you, her mother, Marty (The five generations in the photo above are Maude Lane (1), Janice Lane, Jennifer Knott, Kiesha Metcalf, and Marty Lockhart)
