I would like to tell everyone about
the birth of my little brother, Talon Ray
Grant. He was bom on Jan. 1, 2002.
He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and
was 20 inches long. Talon is the third
great-grandson of the late Clifford Case
Sr. and Elouise Case. He joins mom
Ronell, dad Kelly, and of course me,
Micah. Welcome to our family, Talon.
Robby, Sidney, and Tyson are
happy to announce the birth of our
little brother, Ryan Scott Rilatos, bom
on April 1, 2002, at 2:03 p.m. Ryan
weighed in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces,
and 20-° inches long. Our wonderful
parents are Robby and Lisa
Rilatos. Our grandparents are Shine
and Ruby Rilatos and the late Ron
and Stacey Oleman.

pow-wow honoring the students begins
May 10 at 7 p.m., grand entry; May
11, grand entry at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.,
and May 12 at 1 p.m.

The Rilatos and Woods families are
pleased to announce the birth of Trinity
Nathaniel, born March 21, 2002, to
Priscilla VanderArk. He weighed
6 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 19 inches
long. He joins his big sisters Samantha
and Jada. Proud grandparents are Dixie
and Robert VanderArk and Roger and
Dorene Rilatos.

Thank you to all of our family and
friends who showed our family
thoughtfulness and kindness with lots
of love during the recent loss of our
family member, Janice Lane. You don’t
know how important your thought­
fulness was as you sent cards, brought
food to our homes, and spent what time
you could with us during this time of a
great loss in our lives.
Thanks to ail the people who
coordinated the dinners after Janice’s
services, both in Salem and Siletz. You
are appreciated greatly. Thank you,
Jessica Werth, for playing Taps. You are
so thoughtful and sweet.
Janice was a very special person to
who all loved her and our family thanks

Kenneth Johnston Jr. - This little
man was born on Oct. 23, 2001,
weighing 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and
was 19-'A inches long. Currently, he’s
5-'/2 months old, weighs 21 pounds,
and is 26-V4 inches long ... what a
healthy little guy.
Proud parents of this cutie are
Angela Martin and Ken Johnston Sr.
Grandmothers are Joella Strong (Siletz,
Ore.) and Jackie Howard (Vancouver,
Wash.), and Great-gram is Wilma
Strong (Siletz). Ken Jr. joins his
brothers and sisters Lynetta Benedict,
Jonathan Benedict, Sequoia Johnston,
and Seth Benedict.
And Little Man Johnston has
several proud aunts, uncles, and
cousins.
Engagement Announcement
Tribal member Jack McCord III,
son of Jack McCord Jr. of Siletz, Ore.,
and Donna Skonberg of Brookings,
Ore., is engaged to marry Leslie
Hickerson, daughter of Robert and
Jackie Hickerson of Depoe Bay, Ore.,
formerly of Brookings.
The wedding is planned for
June 15, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Siletz
Tribal Community Center in Siletz.
