From:
Election Director
Subject: 2002 Tribal Council
Election
It takes a lot of determination and courage to be a Native American
business owner in a non-Indian world. That’s why we are here.
ONABEN was created to assist people venturing into the world of
business. Since 1993, ONABEN has offered many types of help, such as
classes to help Native entrepreneurs take that first step and begin a business
of their own.
Now, the newest ONABEN program, Business LINC, can help you grow
and succeed.
Whether you are a new business owner, a retired executive who has seen
and done it all, or somewhere in between, LINC is for you.
LINC asks business owners to help one another. Each participant makes
a commitment to Learning from one another, Investment of time and energy,
Networking, and Collaboration with one another.
Through roundtable discussions, group meetings, and conferences, those
with experience are able to help those with the drive to learn. We invite you
to join us and make this new world yours.

Apparently some confusion has
arisen over the number of ballots
received by mail at the 2002 Tribal
Council election. The number
t
certified, 682, is the actual amount
of mail-in ballots received. The
r
number announced before the
opening of ballots was incorrect.
Upon reconciliation of the ballots,
a numbering error was discovered.
This discovery necessitated the
correction in the number of ballots
received by mail. This number is
verifiable both by records in
possession of the Election Board
and by information in the poll book.
I apologize for any confusion
this might have caused.
