“I told Dr. Brown to do
whatever it would take to fix him
up, and I would pay for it,”
said George.
Because he dutifully filed a
report with the police, worried
owners Fritz and Monika were
able to locate Theo at the
veterinary clinic the next morning.

“I was in tears and nearly
hysterical,” said Monika. “I’m so
grateful for George and that young
woman. It’s nice to know that there
are people like that in this
world who care so much for
injured animals.”
Theo had been let out of the
house by Fritz and was on his way
to his job as No. I companion at
the Sears Outlet Store in the
Lighthouse Center.
“He’s our best employee,”
Fritz said of the friendly canine
that was rescued from the animal
shelter three years ago. “He’s
always here before we open and
we don’t pay him a thing!”
Vet bills so far have reached
$600, a small price to pay for a
devoted and loyal member of the
Hucke clan.
