Actually, the complete donation process only takes about an hour. If you stop to think that your donation could mean a lifetime for a premature baby, someone with cancer undergoing chemotherapy, or an elderly person facing surgery, you might not be too busy after all. While all blood types are needed daily, type O blood is critical. Donors with O-negative blood are called universal donors because in emergencies, their blood can be given to anyone. If you are one of these “special people,” please consider donating blood. Your donation can help save many, many lives. The Red Cross has challenged us to collect 45 units, which means we must sign up 60 people. We are confident that Team Chinook will collect all 45 units, and maybe more.
