Paul Revere organized the Raiders
in 1958. Since then it’s been one wild
performance after another with 25
consecutive hit singles, eight gold
albums, and nearly 50 million records
sold. “Louie, Louie,” “Ooh Poo Pah Doo,”
“Just Like Me,” “Kicks,” “Hungry,” “Good
Thing,” and “Indian Reservation” (which
sold nearly 3 million singles, making it
Soul Man” Sam Moore
and Little Eva to Perform
Sam Moore, the “Soul Man” and
lead singer of Sam & Dave, will perform
at Chinook Winds on Jan. 14 and 15.
Grammy-winning Sam Moore first
came to prominence as the “Soul Man”
- the lead singer of the legendary duo
Sam & Dave. Their songs, “Hold On, I’m
Comin,” “I Thank You,” “When
Something Is Wrong With My Baby,” “Soul
Sister, Brown Sugar,” and “Wrap It Up,”
climbed both the pop and R&B
charts internationally.
Sam & Dave served as the
inspiration for Dan Akroyd and John
Belushi s Saturday Night Live parody,
The Blues Brothers, when they covered
the duo’s 1967 million-selling, Grammy
winning “Soul Man” and exposed a new
generation of fans to their music.
Although Moore’s partner Dave Prater
died in an auto accident in 1988, Moore
continues to perform their music solo, to
the delight of audiences far and wide.
Little Eva, best known for
Locomotion, will open all three shows.
Concert times are 8 p.m. Friday and
7 and 10 p.m. Saturday. Ticket prices
range from $15 to $20, depending on
seat location.

In 1965-66, the group was featured
on ABC s five-day-a-week network
show, “Where the Action Is,” produced
by Dick Clark. In 1968-69 Paul Revere
co-hosted a weekly ABC series called
“Happening,” which featured the
Raiders. They’ve done numerous TV and
radio commercials, been featured on
many TV shows, and have performed in
North America and Europe.
Paul Revere, the only remaining
member of the original group, has been
called “Mad Man of Rock ‘n’ Roll” for
good reason. Onstage, Revere carries
on with maniacal glee, as if he wants to
get in the last laugh before the men in
the white coats carry him off. Although
the members of the band have changed
over time, the onstage excitement has
remained supercharged and the quality
of music has only improved. It’s truly a
“blast from the past.”
