2 NEWS Winter term brings challenges Hello! We made it through winter term 2022. It wasn’t x easy. Through a lot of hard work, dedicated staff, and writers, your student media is proud to share our second printed issue since March 2020. Since fall term 2021, we have been back on campus, all while social distancing and wearing masks. Well, unless you count the two weeks we were on a pause and had to revert back to online and the joy of zoom. Besides our in-person journalism classes, the college also “paused” many other courses on campus during the Omnicron surge in January. The college decided no vaccines, and no masks will be required spring term. The theater was allowed to unmask for its March show, and Wacheno Welcome Center has finally opened. Maybe in spring, we will see the return of the library, the weight room, and more students on campus? If you love writing, podeasting, taking photographs, or want to learn all there is to know about putting together a newspaper, in print and online, The Clackamas Print is the best place to be. We will continue to report the news in spring term, and if you want to help, come join us. The Print is always looking for writers, artists, and photographers. We stand with the people of Ukraine The world has been shocked by the events that have been unfolding in Ukraine, The Clackamas Print offers our most sincere condolences to all affected-people in our community as well as communities abroad. We condemn all acts of violence, anywhere they transpire, regardless of the situation. We should not forget to recognize similar atrocities that are often forgotten when they occur in non-white countries. In this troubling time we should all offer grace and kindness where it is needed most. In the face of violence across the world, the best we can do at home is to maintain peace by any means necessary. To help support people in our community who have been affected by these tragic events, the college has been contacting students and offering additional assistance wherever they may need.
