By now. students should have received their specific time to register; anyone who hasn’t should contact registration. Students around campus had different things to say about their favorite courses. ; “ My favorite class was Math 111, my first term of college. This was so, because I had never enjoyed m ath before. Instructor Mark Yannotta gave me a new perspective on m ath in which I began to appreciate and find the stuff that I was learning interesting and led me to excel in the class! ” said Jaylani Cooper. Students who need help deciding w hich classes to take should make an appointment with a counselor or adviser, or just talk to other students. “ Crime Scene Investigation was my favorite class,” said Mathias Allen. “ Each class was dynamic and had physical activities and you used many different senses. I’d like to say this to other students who are trying to find their path: ‘Where can you do the m o st good and do yourself the least harm ?’ That’ s a statem ent from one of my favorite shows, ‘ Crim inal M inds.” ’ Advising appointments are filling up quickly, according to counselors. The first day of classes is September 30. “ My favorite class, hm m m , I guess I would say it was W riting 121,” Beth Moore said. “ I love reading and w riting, and that helped m ake the class enjoyable.” “ Public Speaking. Probably not the class most people would think o f as being fun, or their favorite, but it was mine. W hen I first started college, I hated speaking in front o f people, and I was scared to take this class. I’m not 100 percent sure on my career at this tim e, I’ve changed twice, but I do know that speaking in front of people will be a part of it. This class really gave me the skills and confidence to get up there and just do it. It was actually fun listening to other people mess up worse than m e ,” laughed Mike Sm ith. Michael Stevens said “ Human Sexuality was a great class. Mostly because we got to ta lk about th in g s th at are) usually inappropriate, and the subject m atter makes people feel uncom fortable. But the instructor made it fun, people would giggle, so it made the class fun. ” Since every class is not offered every term, it’s a good idea for students to plan out classes as soon as possible. Cooper had th is advice, for students, “ The biggest advice I could give to any new/returning student is to get involved! Become a peer assistant, join Associated Student Governm ent (ASG), join a club. By becom ing involved w ithin Clackamas Com m unity College it opens up so many great opportunities.” For students looking for a little help paying for school, there are options to help. One way is to get a tuition waiver. D ifferent departm ents have their own options, so check with them directly for more inform ation. mundo "EeTkzzle 8e*n CtiSiS BY ERIC CARLSON thOUsW lofe conditio^1 to7, ,o f f e r d tm A V ’9 a l l w ■fny r ft Q P lJ ¡V a ty jr now ft?
