build it som ew here else. That way the com m uni

building, then tear the old one down. That’ll all
depend on where we decide the com m unity center
will actually go.
TCP: W hat about the classrooms? I know a lot
o f the chem istry classroom s will be updated, and
w hen does that start?
Cochran: Well that’s D ejardin phase two. It’s
kind o f m ore o f a simple project because we know
w here it’s going to go, it’s going to be on one side
or the other on D ejardin, and a relatively simple
design. That one is k ind o f a slam dunk, all things
considered.
TCP: Besides buildings, will there be any b o n d
m oney for scholarships?
C o ch ran : You can’t use bond m oney for schol
arships, it has to be for capital. It can only be bricks
and m o rtar and classrooms, all those things that
you can touch.

Som etim e thereafter it will probably be the

the classrooms. A nd th en the com m unity center
building will probably be the last one. A nd again
we haven’t really set up a start tim e and end tim e o f
w here we’re going to go.
TCP: W hat is ‘debt service’?
C o c h ran : W hen we built H arm ony cam pus, the
college borrow ed th at money, like a m ortgage al

going to refinance th at m oney using b o n d money.
So the m oney th at we raised in the b o n d is going
to pay the m ortgage. T hen that’ll free up m oney in
