But for the true Halloween experience, there are plenty of local pumpkin patches i where individuals can find that perfect pumpkin just in j|me for the big night. Sauvie Island Farms. ■ One °f the best Halloween ■bdeavors is visiting Sauvie Mlland Farms. This family- ■fiendly farm not only has ■ great pumpkin patch, but Blso offers hayrides and a corn maze. In addition, it boasts one of the scariest haunted com mazes in the area. ’With ghosts and chainsaw killers jumping from the com, it is sure to strike fear into the Äfft of anyone brave enough to venture into the maze. Also on the property is a country store that sells» locally-made syrups and jams and fresh produce. Kids will enjoy the bam, where all sorts of farm animals are kept ror viewing. The Flower Farmer City area is the Flower Farmer, in Canby. That depends on the pattern for carving. If the desired pattern is vertical, look for a pumpkin that is talleFBI vise verste , z _ s For a visually appealing pumpkin, look jfor a deep, even orange color. Flaws in a pumpkin don’t necessarilydgsqualify it for picking. If iffcas a flat side, make that side, the back, or if it is in goodcondition - that i’S- with no rotting spots - incorporate it into the design. Make sure that the flesh of the pumpkin is firm and won’t bend easily,.^ All of these qualities will ensure that the pumpkin will last at least a eouple of weeks. Clackamas Print Halloween: that special time of year heh ghosts and ghouls come out to iunt the night, children are allowed to :cept candy from strangers and many omen throw their morals right out the indow. Now, why is' it that women seem to choose Halloween of all days to dress like sluts? It appears that, despite whether they dress as a pirate, a police officer, a zombie, a construction worker, a Catholic school girl, a nun, an auto mechanic or even a stripper, the cos tume is always “sexy.” Clackamas students have varying opinions on the topic. Some are opposed to the idea of women dressing seductively for the holiday, including Michael Mitchell, who believes “it is wrong.” Another student, Rebecca Sweesy, theorizes that women are “trying to please people” in an attempt to be popular.
