Hood Wrestlers keep busy in cold weather • Head Coach Mike Haluska noted that participa tion numbers, which usually range around 200 wres tlers for the annual Clackamas Open, were cut in half because of the ice stoim Saturday. • Saturday’s tournament ran smoothly, accord ing to Haluska, thanks to the efforts of Athletic Department Head Jim Jackson, who ran the head score table. Jackson wasn’t alone, however, as the softball team took time to volunteer their efforts to keep order for the tournament. “[They] came and ran the brackets,” said Haluska, “That’s huge.” Haluska would like to thank them for their efforts. • “[We had] some quality people in the tourna ment,” said Haluska of the wrestlers who managed to make it out for the tournament. Haluska was proud of his team’s performance, boasting two finalists for Clackamas, including Alex Bubb who wrestled at 157 lbs. • Injuries continue to be a burden for the team a few wrestlers remain absent on doctor’s and coaches’ orders. Coach Haluska is keeping a few wrestlers from practice because he doesn’t want to sacrifice the health of his boys before the regional tournament at the end of the season, which is still several weeks away. • Clackamas wrestlers held a dual meet at home Friday night and hosted their own open tournament Saturday in spite of weather conditions.
