Woods said that the Cougar volleyballers are working hard as team and are learning how to work under pressure. “They really like each other,” Woods said. “When you like and respect each other as a team it makes it easier. They all want to work hard and they all push each other.” Tonight at 7 p.m. in the Randall gym the Cougars will take on Chemeketa CC. Chemeketa was the only team out of the South to defeat the Cougars this season. The Cougar sophomores will be honored as this is their last home match of the season. “We will be competing in our last home match on Wednesday and we want people to be there,” Woods said. “We play Chemeketa and they beat us [earlier], so it would be nice to get that one back.” The Cougars will participate in the Mt. Hood Halloween Classic this weekend, at Mt. Hood CC in Gresham. Next weekend, they will travel to the Walla Walla Crossover tourna ment. With a Southern Region title, an overall record of 26-8 and a league record of 9-1 the Cougars will have a top seed at the NWAACC Championships held Nov. 18-20. “We know we are the top team in the south, we feel fortu nate to have that opportunity,” Woods said. The Cougars were also earned the No. 1 position in NWAACC Coaches’ Poll receiving 66 votes overall with three first place votes.
