the Clackamas Print December 4, 2002 CCC Fall term 2002 Retirees four Clackamas staff members look back with fond memories on careers at the college. Cathy LeDoux has been an employee of Clacxamas Community College for a little over 11 years. She has served as the division secretary to the Math, Science, and Allied Health Division from 1991 to 1994, and the Extended Learning Services Division from 1994 to 2002. “My time here at Clackamas.... has been rewarding and fulfilling. I feel I have made lifelong friends, especially with my beloved division secretaries,” said LeDoux. “Working with Rene’ Zingarelli and the staff of Extended Learning is an experience I will treasure forever. I will miss them all.” LeDoux looks forward to “painting, cooking, and travel ing the world with my best friend, my husband B.J.” She also plans to attend classes at CCC from time to time, “just Extended Learning Services for the fun of it.” ■ Cathy LeDoux Division Secretary ■ Michael Watkins has worked at Clackamas for 29 years. He had officially retired on Sept. 1, 2002. Watkins was the depart ment chair for the Skills Development department for seven years and worked in that department for a total of 19 years. Prior to that he worked as an instructor in the Developmental Disabilities department for 10 years. He participated in the development of the Vocational Options program, training at- risk high school students in job search and retention skills offered through the Skills Development department. ■ “This was perhaps my most enjoyable assignment,” said Watkins. “My favorite memories are of student and staff ratreats to the coast where we worked on program assignments, y planning, curriculum, etc. And I had the opportunity to. build professional and personal relationships.” ■ Watkins will continue to work part-time as an instructor, “so I hope I’m not going to miss much due to retirement,” he said. This means she supervised the grant accounting, payroll, accounts payable, foun dation accounting and general ledger func tions of the college. She was also part of the team that implemented the Datatel database system. “My favorite memory is those times once a year when Roxie, George and I would come in at 5 a.m. to run the processes in Datatel that close our financial books for the previous fiscal year... ha ha,” said Miles. “I will really miss seeing the good friends I have made here at CCC on a daily basis.” Eileen TUmer has been at Clackamas for 11 years. Her job duties included teaching theory (medical-surgical nursing), teaching campus skills lab, and clinical instruction in the hospital setting each term. She also managed the skills lab for about six years, scheduling and hiring student help, ordering all supplies, and maintaining orders. Some of her favorite memories: “Fun times we had as a faculty surprising our students with crazy skits, plays, etc, when they thought they were com ing to a very serious class or mandatory meeting. It has been a fabulous faculty to work with,” said Turner. Turner will be doing a double clinical group for winter term at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. She also can’t wait to have more time for her granddaughter, Avery and grandson, Adam. Eileen Turner Health Sciences Instructor
