n WEdNEsdAy, M ay 29, 2002 TI he CI ac I camas P rint Murphy, Staley are All-Americans FRANK JORDAN News Editor Two Clackamas softball play ers, Nikki Staley, a sophomore from Westview High School in Beaverton and Erin Murphy, a sophomore from LaSalle High School in Milwaukie, have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Junior College All-American team for their outstanding accomplish ments this season. Staley is “ a supremely talented player, one that coaches will always remember,” said Clackamas Head Coach Paul Fiskum. “She is very gifted, a very quick athlete. Defensively, nothing gets by her. Offensively, she was as tough of an out as their was in the entire confer ence this season.” Fiskum also said “as the pitch ing got tougher to face, .Nikki got tougher at the plate. She has such a quick bat; she had five to seven foul ball home runs this year.
