A celebration of love is not a bunch of hoopla
___________DAISY BAIN
A&E Editor
I would first like to say to
my readers, happy Valentine’s
Day. Recently, I have had
some very intense conversa
tions with friends about the
meaning of love and the idea
of Valentine’s Day. I know that
many people have hardships
about this day. Most of those
people are the lonely people
who do not have a significant
other or they don’t even have
a date. I, unfortunately, am
one of those lonely people
who have neither, but there is
a twist: I do not believe that
this holiday is just a bunch of
hoopla.
The quest for love is an ad
venture that keeps the spirit
of life continuing. So what if
the media and corporate
America take this holiday and
make millions off of heart-
shaped candies and cute little
slogans? That happens on
every holiday, whether we like
it or not.
Valentine’s Day is to cel
ebrate love. Sure, I get lonely
every once in a while. How take some advice. Don’t go rent
ever, not any more than the a bunch of sad romantic movies,
next single person does. I just because it is not going to help
