Concerned staff members and administrators met yesterday only to find that the amount of Co2 in the air, temperature, relative humid ity, carbon dioxide, carbon monox ide and particles in the air, measured by Clayton Environmental, meet OSHEA standards. “The good news is that the build ing is clean and the bad news is that the building is clean. We don’t know what is causing the problem,” said Carol Patterson, associate dean, :ampus services. “It’s bad news be- :ause it didn’t help us at all in deter- nining the problem. MAGGIE JIRASEK Feature Editor Stefan Myers was elected ASG resident for the 2001/2002 school ear with a total of 49 votes, vonne Ingram was elected vice resident with 47 votes. Approximately 56 people partici- ated in the elections this year. Bob losserman, Clackamas student, iceived four votes for President nd Jeremy Ball, student and ath- te, received 4 votes for Vice Presi- ent. “Students have been writing in ob Bosserman for the last few ears. Nobody really knows who e is except that he’s a student here at Clackamas,” said Glorianne Muggli, ASG vice president. Compared to last year’s elec tions outcome, the number of stu dents voting as well as students running for office has dropped. “Considering the lack of compe tition, the election turnout was pretty good,” said Muggli. “There was really not a whole lot of chal lenge this year. I heard that at Mt. Hood Community College, they were giving out free TCBY yogurt in order to get people to vote.” Myers and Ingram will start their duties Fall term.________________ See profile of new ASG president on page 3 24 the High Desert said she has moved three classrooms out of the building into the Gregory Forum and the modules, along with a number of staff offices. She will continue to move classrooms and offices as needed. The library has posted signs warn ing anyone with allergies or asthma that they could be affected by using the facilities. Rene Zingarelli, associ ate dean, extending learning services said that library staff is trying to limit staffwoik to four hour increments. The hours at the library have been changed; theyarenow 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 am. to 5 pm. Fri day, and 10am.to4p.m. on Saturday. Clayton Environmental group ran tests 24 hours a day for four days to see if there was any relationship be tween time and possible changes in the environment. Beginning next Wednesday, air sampling and petri dish samples will be taken throughout the building above the ceiling, in ductwork and at work level.
