Help Center Data Specialists (l-r) Glenna Baer, Roni Wilhelm, and
Donna Riley experiment with the new Datatel registration system.
CHRISTINA MUELLER
Co-Editor-in-Chief
A mock registration took place last
Friday to help employees working
with the process learn how to use the
new Datatel system and follow new
registration procedures.
The mock registration also pro
vided employees with a chance to de
termine exactly how long the regis
tration process might take with the
new systems, which will give them an
idea of proper staffing to have on hand
and when to schedule appointments.
The new process, which is expected
to make registration go more smoothly,,
will be implemented in time for early
fall registration which takes place dur
ing the week of May 18-22.
New services that will be provided
with early fall registration include ad
ditional payment options such as hav
ing the opportunity to schedule classes
and make arrangements for payment
later.
In-person registration will give stu
dents the chance to update their stu
dent record and register for classes all
in one place. This will initially be
done during individual advising/ reg
istration sessions and take place in th’e
Help Center thereafter.
Beginning with Summer Term reg
istration, students will also be able to
register by phone seven days a week
from 7 am. to midnight for up to 19
credit hours. There will be an option
to add and delete classes using the
touch-tone telephone registration sys
tem.
Also beginning with Summer Term
registration, students will be able to
register by mail for up to 19 credit
hours. More information on the new (
processes being offered is available in
the summer schedule of classes or in
the packet that students should be re
ceiving in the mail shortly.
