Last Wednesday, Clackamas’ season finished after losing to red hot Mt. Hood 68-66 in the regional playoffs. Clackamas went on a 18-4 run to give them a 21-20 lead after being down 16-3 with 6:25 to go in the first half. Clacka mas was able to grab a 34-31 lead at half time, but was outscored 37-32 in the second half. Clint Hordemann led the team with 22 points and nine rebounds, but was one of only two Cougars in double figures. Gabe McCune added 10 points. “Gabe McCune has improved defense dramatically,” said Kiser. Brian Hay hit several key shots, including a three pointer to bring the Cougars within one point, 20-19 during the run. Hordemann and Oscar Rodriguez got a steal that gave Clackamas the chance to take their last lead of the game, 66- 65, with 30.1 seconds to go. The Cougars had several chances to tie in the closing sec onds, but they had a couple of untimely turnovers and missed shots. “It isn’t just the turnovers. When we did get the ball through [down court], we didn’t score. Down the stretch we didn’t play as well as we could have,” said Head Coach Royce Kiser. Mt. Hood is currently on a roll and beat Chemeketa for first place in the Southern Re gion. “Mt. Hood just beat the day lights out of Chemeketa at Chemeketa. Right now Mt.
