Environmental edu cators reveal strate gies for environmen tal learning As most good teachers know, getting students to ask questions is half the battle of getting them to learn. Techniques for generating questions and other educational tips will be shared by Jim Mar tin and other master environmen tal educators at a special work shop designed for teachers of grades 4 through 12. “Questioning Strategies for Environmental Learning” will buffered at'the John Inskeep Environmental Learning Center on the college campus. There is a $15 fee for the workshop, which is scheduled from 9 a.m;^to noon, on Satur day, Nov. 16. , For registration or further in formation, contact the Environ mental Learning Center at ext. 2351. Cleaning without toxins explored at workshop Some of the most dangerous substances are not in barrels sur rounded by signs and fencing. Some of them are under kitchen sinks, in pantries and cupboards. Household cleaners and other environmental toxins are thought by many to cause prob lems such as headaches and re current illness and allergies. Can they be avoided? Are there other alternatives? A workshop to address these issues is being planned at the ...,A, 1 Bistro and Comedy Club i John Inskeep Environmental Learning Center. Led by educa tor Teresa Riggs, the workshop will explore methods of clean ing without using dangerous substances. The workshop is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m..Saturday, Nov. 16.
