Well, I can say I was pleasantly sur prised with the two big movies that came out last weekend: The 6. Name the city where Drugstore Cowboy was produced. 8. What was John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd’s frequent religious refrain as the Blues Brothers? The second movie I saw was Jon Roberts A&E Editor The Chamber. PM Special Pf 15* EirfeHameM B-. The first movie was The Ghost and The Darkness (R, Paramount) starring Vai Kilmer and Michael Douglas. The basic plot line for this movie is that Vai Kilmer, a 19th-century bridge de signer, is called upon to build a bridge near a city named Tsavo somewhere in Africa. Everything goes smoothly until two lions decide to make it their goal in life to stop the bridge from being built by killing almost a hundred people. So they call in a big game hunter from America (Michael Douglas) to deal with the lions. The two men go through a lot together as they try to kill the lions before they kill any more of the helpless workers. The movie was very intense, with a lot of blood and guts that were usually hanging from the li ons’ impressive teeth. The movie will not win any awards, but it was very entertain ing and a fun, yet suspenseful movie. _ jP Vh Mark ftp K «Wft, U» ’ The movie is about a young lawyer (O’Donnell) who decides to get his convict grandfather (Hackman) off death row. He tries to find a loophole, or possibly an other person to pin the crime on, to get his grandfather out of his date with the gas chamber. Hackman’s character was a KKK member who bombed a lo cal Jewish lawyers’ office, acci dentally killing the lawyers’ two three-year-old sons. The Chamber is a decent movie, although slow at times. If you have seen the movie Dead Man Walking, this movie will seem like a rerun of another story. Also, if you have read the book, don’t see the movie because it just spoils the ending and some other plot lines. Overall, both these movies are very well done, with The Ghost and The Darkness being the best of the two. Both are en tertaining and worth the cost of admission.
