The Clackamas Print Entertainment?dnesday November18--^ Jennifer 8 leaves audience at edge of their seats by Heidi Branstator Feature Editor Jennifer 8 is a psychologi cal suspense thriller, starring Andy Garcia and Uma Thurman, that keeps the audience on the edge of its seat, clear up to the very end. Sgt. John Berlin, played by Andy Garcia (Dead Again, The Godfather Part 3, Stand and Deliver and Hero), is a burnt out L.A. cop who has a compulsion for tracking down killers. He moves to a small Northern Cali fornia town, Eureka, to join his best friend on the police force. Shortly after his arrival, Berlin finds himself helping the force search for a murder weapon near a recently discovered body. Soon he is thrust into the middle of a hunt for a dangerous serial killer who has just claimed the life of an eighth victim, code name Jennifer. The clues lead Berlin to a beautiful blind woman named Helena Robertson, played by Uma Thurman (Final Analysis, Where The Heart Is and Dangerous Liaisons) may be his only wit ness and link to solving the mur ders. Robertson may also be the next intended victim. Berlin finds himself fighting the police force for help and answers, but no one seems to want to get involved. When he discovers contradictory evidence, Berlin realizes how involved and dangerous this mystery is really becoming. Soon everyone is a suspect, including Berlin_He is given a very short time to prove himself innocent and find the murderer before he is put in jail. Things become even more complicated when Berlin real izes that he is falling in love with Robertson. Protecting her from the killer grows to be an obses sion for him. What he doesn’t realize is that his growing attrac tion for her is plunging them both deeper into danger than he may be able to handle.
