News THE CLACKAMAS PRINT Ryan's retirement party a great success by Briane C. Dotson News Editor . The retirement party* for Administrative Dean of College Services and Planning Bill Ryan, who is leaving the college after twenty-two years of service, was held on May 19 at the Holiday Inn in Wilsonville. “The Party was extremely good and the meal was good too,” said Ryan. Director of Information and Planning Chuck Adams was the master of ceremonies for the re tirement party. Ryan said that he thought Adams did a tremendous job in emceeing the party. The speakers at the party were very good and Ryan thought they were extremely nice. The committee which organ ized the party were Chuck Adams; Acting Administrative Dean of College Services Gary Dirrim; Roxie Hobart, Assistant to the Controller; and Mr. Ryan’s secre tary, Rena Green. Clackamas Community Col lege President, Dr. John Keyser, presented Ryan’s wife, Pat, and May 31,1989 Page 7 Advice given Mr. Ryan with several gifts, one of which was the banyon tree pin, a Symbol of excellence. Mr. Ryan said, “Being presented the ban yon pin by John (Keyser) really meant a lot to her.” Mr. Ryan has been with Clackamas Community College since the 1966-67 school year. At the time only then-President of the college Roy Mikelson, and thè secretary to the president had been hired prior to Mr. Ryan’s employ ment with the college. Mr. Ryan says that when he retires he will be able to spend more time with his two grandchil dren, Jim Adcock, 16, and Chris Photo by Julie Church Adcock, 13. “They are the best grand kids Bill Ryan, administrative dean of college services and planning, a guy could have,” said Mr. Ryan will retire June 30 after 21 years at CCC. about his two grandchildren. Mr. Ryan is also looking for ward to catching up on fishing, taking short camping trips, and spending more time with his fam ily. The class will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. The class is intended for those thinking about incorporating, new small corporations or those need ing general corporate information. This class will also be held at PCC southeast center. Novelist Lesley holds signing novelist include his first book entitled “Winterkill,” which was published in 1984. The novel won the Western Writers of America Spur Award in 1984 for best novel. Lesley, 43, has taught at Clackamas for 18 years. He was awarded a fellowship by the Na tional Endowment for the Arts to work on “River Song” in 1986.
