What, me vote? Fewer than 100 Clackamas Community College stu dents took the time to participate in the election of next year's Associated Student Government officers that was held two weeks ago. Those students who didn't vote will get another chance to shirk their responsibility this Tuesday, May 24 when CCC operating levy goes before the voters of Clackamas County. What really seems scary about this is that if fewer than 100 students participated in an election held in their scholastic living room (the Community Center building), what is it going to be like when hey have to leave the comforts of their homes to vote? As a young friend of ours once said, "Wl o wants to go out and vote when they could stay home and watch "Gilligan's Island'?" Speaking of energy Speaking of energy, here is an excerpt from an edi torial which originally appeared in the Port Angeles (Washington) Daily News. "In a way, the power crunch is something of a blessing because it serves as a warning to all of the necessity of learning to conserve. The warning is our second. The first came three years ago as a result of the Arab oil embargo. Remember the long gas lines and the 'sold out' signs?. . .It's doubtful that America will respond as she should to the current warning. It didn't respond to the first one. Gasoline consumption is higher than ever, and nation is importing significantly more oil than it before the Arabs turned off the spigot. Unfortunately, it seems to take a crisis to get people's attention. What, one wonders, will the last be like?" Commendations Commendations are in order for Associated Stu dent Government senator Ken Roberts and Clackamas Community College physics instructor Mike Aronson for the efforts they put into the Experimental Energy Exposition held last week. This project was good for community as well as inter-college relations. The exposition was a great suc cess in our opinion and it just goes to show what can be accomplished when a cooperative effort is put forth by a variety of college departments.
