Star Awards were presented to Fred incan, Oregon City, for outstanding Ser- ttlolletired Senior Volunteer Program The Financial Aid Office has now been forced to eliminate the Emergency Loan Program for the spring and summer '77 quarters. 'Lack of consideration of fellow students by a small but growing number of students has brought about this action. The Student Emergency Loan Program will be reinstated fall term 1977 on a trial basis. The continuance of the Emergency Loan Program will depend upon the student default rate. Student cooperation Fall term can in sure the continuation of emergency funds being available to future students in need. Transition group Clackamas County Mental Health Pro gram is planning as part of its Community Service, a Transition Group for the Newly Single. The focus will be on sharing of the pain, anger and fear that often goes with the situation. There will be some time at be coming aware of what changes occurred prior to becoming single. There will also be concentration on "change" as an oppor tunity for growth and experimentation. The group is open to women up to age 55 who are undergoing stresses due to sep aration, divorce or death. This is not a therapy group, but an opportunity for sup port, growth and self expression. The series starts March 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Education Building on the Marylhurst Campus, and will meet week ly for six weeks. There is no charge. Colors by Munsell Color Services Lab Tax workshop An Internal Revenue Service workshop designed to instruct business persons in their tax reporting responsibilities is sche duled in Portland at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. Representatives from the Oregon Depart ment of Revenue and Oregon Department of Employment will also be available to answer questions. Business owners and their bookkeepers are invited to participate in the three-hour workshop which is to be held on the third Thursday of each month in Room 223 in the Federal Building at 1220 S.W. Third. Further information can be obtained by calling the local federal tax information number listed under the heading "U.S. □overnment" in all Oregon telephone direc tories. Aid deadline Ron Hoodye, financial aides specialist, reminds students that the deadline is ap proaching for students to mail in financial aide forms. March 15 is the last day that students may apply for a Basic Educational Grant (BEOG). This grant will apply to the 1976- 77 school year. The returned application, if the student is accepted, should be brought in to the financial aid office no later than May 30. Forms turned in after that date will not be considered.
