"Our Tuesday evening course, SOC 199 Beyond Sex Roles, will challenge persons enrolled to become aware of their male and might call 'basic humanness'," said Fitz gerald. The sociology course, taught by Fitz gerald and Donna Grund-Slepack, will re flect both the cognitive and experimental approaches to sex role stereotyping in social institutions. Emphasis will be placed on education, the family, religion, politics, ec onomics, and their impact on personal development. Both instructors have distinct approaches to the course. Grund-Slepack completed her doctorate a year ago, with her disser tation on Women in the German Democratic Republic (East Germany). Her teaching background includes Ger man, art, and child development. Grund- Slepack travels extensively and frequently. She is currently on the Steering Committee for "Focus on Women" here at CCC. Fitzgerald, counselor and foreign student advisor at CCC, does much personal and group counseling and has taught Psychology of Human Relations here for the last five years. In the previous 12 years, Fitzgerald taught Spanish at the college and high school levels. The class will be held from 7-10 p.m. on Tuesday nights.
