Jeff Harmon saw his first action since suffering a broken wrist in December, and proved that he has lost little of his strength when he decisioned Tracy Jackson, South western Oregon, 11-6 for first place. Verna Simons will long jump for the Cougar squad at the meet and since all distances jumped are officially recorded, Verna will amost certainly obtain a school record for herself. In the mile race both Sandy Killian and Jean Sandwick have a chance of breaking the school record of 5:53.8 set by Sandwick at the Washington meet. Sprinter Amanda Eggleston could esta blish marks in the 100 and 200 meter dashes with third or better finishes in those races. Teams from the University of Oregon, Oregon College of Education, Portland State and Willamette University will join in pre senting tough competition for the young Cougar squad. Coach Roger Smith said, "We'll just have to wait and see how the team as a whole fares. "We're just looking forward to it." who has finished third in regionals for the last three years, and second-ranked North Idaho, who has lost only one meet to Eastern Washington; the number three ranked four- year school. Earlier this season Clackamas and North Idaho battled to a 19-19 tie. "We're really going to have to have it together as a team if we are going to do well in the regionals," Berney said.
