Women hikers explore Cascade Head Trail

“It creates a unique oppor­
tunity to do something dif­
ferent,” stated publications in­
structor Linda Vogt, about the
Sept. 26 women’s hike.
That Saturday 12 women, a
mixture of students, staff and
community members, hiked to
the top of Cascade Head. They
were led by Ellen Burbridge and
Margaret Cook, faculty
members at the Targeted Learn­
ing Center.
Focus on Women hopes to
create some events each term to
let women from all walks of life
come together. Winter term
there will be a snow outing
(possibly cross country skiing).
Spring term there will be a
weekend retreat with workshops
on topics ranging from self-
esteem to time management.
These are all open to women in
the community.
