It was really more than anyone
could take, just being a student
and never really having seen any
death or destruction. I knew that
as a reporter it was my obligation
to follow this thing out. But I
never thought that I would be in-
stramental in the destruction of
it. As a matter of fact I never
thought that it could be
destroyed. However, I cannot
take all the credit. If Bret
Hodgert hadn’t timed the jump
accurately it would have never
been destroyed.
I suppose I should start at the
beginning. That would have been
about 5 o’clock in the morning
on friday the 28 of March, that’s
when I first heard the noise.
I remember I was sitting in my
office when I heard it. What it
was is the biggest’explosion I have
ever heard, only
only it wasn’t an ex-
plosion as I found out later. I
jumped out of my chair spilling
warm tea in my lap, ran out the
door, and into Stan Johnson,
who also had a wet spot on his
¡lap. “Scared the piss out of me
too,” said Johnson.
At first I didn’t understand
what he meant but as I recall I
now know. Together we raced
toward the noise, stopped short
of what used to be the Communi-
ty Center. What was left would
take decades to explain what- I
can tell you is that there was
nothing left. At this point
Johnson left to do what it is that
police do in an emergency. I
don’t know what that is but I’m
sure that it helped.
As the dust settled and the
smoke cleared I noticed a large
shape moving off in the direction
of town. I walked over to where

Wel vreemd om zo een artikel
te schrijven, niet wetende hoeveel
mensen dit kunnen lezen. Alle
Nederlanders, maar ook Duitsers
moeten dit kunnen begrijpen, en
echt, ik heb geen idee hoeveel dat
er zijn.
Ik zou het dus erg leuk vinden
om reacties hierop te krijgen
zodat ik enig idee heb wie dit
allemaal begrijpt.
Als nieuwsredactrice zou ik
eigenlijk nieuws moeten schr
ijven, maar dan van de andere
kant, wie wil er nou nieuws lezen
in een 1 april editie.
Voor dit artikel is een
grenseloze fantasie nodig. Hoe
krijg ik anders een inch of 10 (of
meer) vol?
Omdat m’n plicht het nieuws
verzorgen is doe ik dat dan toch
maar.
Het nieuwe telefoon systeem
hier op campus werkt niet zoals
het moet. De College krijgt tele-
foontjes uit Arabie. Er is een plan
om high school verlaters hier wat
bijscholing te geven.

misschien van tijden veranderd.
De reden daarvoor is dat er een
betere beschikking komt op de
klas lokalen. Iets anders is dat
Studenten willen meer ‘liv ’ pop-

dooriedereen gewaardeerd.
Dat was het dan wel zo’n beet-

als ik alles nu opschrijf blijft er
voor de andere edities net veel
over.
