Barlow work on schedule Photos by Dan Wheeler The construction of the Barlow Hall addition is right on track, said Don Fischer, the College’s director of the Physical Plant. The addition is expected to cost $700,000 and will house classrooms, labs for the nursing school, and faculty offices. The projected comple tion date is May 1. These photographs show work in the final stages on the brick wall construction, which is being done by Smith Masonary, who also built the Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland. The next step in construc tion is the placement of steel roof supports which will be put into place with cranes. Fischer said that the unusually good weather this year has helped a lot to make the work easier and quicker. -News Briefs- Girls wanted Board meets Young ladies between' the age of the 78-year-old fair in ages of 18 and 25 are being public appearances and radio, sought as candidates for the ti TV, and press interviews. tle of Miss 1985 Clackamas They must be residents of County Fair and Rodeo, it is Clackamas County. announced by Jerry Mickelsen, fair manager. Aid specialist joins staff By Rodney Fobert Of The Print Dave Allen is taking over Kathy Scheer’s duties as financial aid specialist at Clackamas Community Col lege. Scheer has moved to the position of financial aid of ficer, which was formerly held by Scott Fischer. Allen began work at the Col lege on “Feb. 1. In his job, Allen will be a financial aid counselor, working closely with the students at the Col lege who receive financial aid. “I’m looking forward to get ting to know students,” Allen said, adding that he has been busy getting familiar with the office procdeures here at the College. Allen has most recently served in an interim position in the financial aid department at Judson Baptist College in The Dalles. Prior to that, he work ed at Warner Pacific College in Portland, for ten and a half years. During that time, Allen spent five years in financial cial aid department. One of the items to be discussed involves the transferring of $35,000 to sup port the budget for the Col lege’s newly formed enroll ment management plan. This plan was developed to help combat declining enrollment and a possible loss of state funding. Out of the $35,000, an amount of $26,000 has been set aside for direct advertising for the College. Should the Board approve of the ap propriation transfer, it will be the first time for the College to utilize direct advertising. In the past the College has adver tised by publishing brochures and other items on campus. Other items to be discussed include proposed job descrip tion changes for the positions of assistant dean of student services, director of counseling and dean of student services. coupon A Valentine HERBST special * ■ Wrapped hard bouquet FLORIST CHIHA Mrewj of fresh cut 655-5450^ spring flowers 358 Warner Milne Rd.
