Cougar soccer team ties with Bellevue 4-4 By Christine Warner Of The Print Team spirit and good physical strength allowed the Clackamas Community Col lege soccer team to play a tough game last Saturday against Bellevue, a team with an eight-win one-loss record. In the game, Clackamas really showed their stuff. The score at halftime was Clackamas 1 and Bellevue 4. But at halftime, the team realized they needed to read just a bit and they still had forty-five minutes to catch up. Thev did, as during the se cond half Clackamas scored three goals in six minutes, and for the remainder of the game let Bellevue cross over the halfway line but twice. The game ended in a tie, 4 - 4. Coach Juanos Szanto con siders the game to be a great win because of Bellevue’s record. He said the main reason Clackamas didn’t score any more was because of elementary mistakes that hap pen only once in a great while. Usually four goals is enough to win the game, but Clackamas gave Bellevue a run for their money. Brian Gorsek scored all four goals and coach Szanto said the front line has improved 100 percent. As far as defen ding each other, sometimes the team disconnects and lets the other team score, but they are very much improved since the beginning of the season. “We still believe we can make it to the playoffs,” Szanto said. The team would tn win their next four games to do so. Szanto sai^ “We have to play as much together as we can.” The team’s next home game is Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. against Ft. Steilacoom.
