briefs Seats Open The Clackamas County Mental Health Council, a governing board for mental health acitivites throughout the county, has council seats open. The council is a governing board that oversees community services, consulatation and education, corrections, drug programs, emergency services and specialized services for the mental health of the elderly. They would- like some input from those in the 20 to 38-year old group who are in terested in, social work. The new council members would be going to council meetings, helping govern the many programs, and helping with the. input at the meetings. All of the work is volunteer. Before one could work as a counselor, he or she would need a degree in the specific fields covered above. Art Show “There are very few shows on commercial art,” said Jack Adams, graphic arts director, on the graphic arts-show that ran last week. “We wanted to show commercial arts, rather than ignore them.” The show consisted of work by 11 graphic designers from the Portland metorpolitan area. Some of the contributing artists were alumni of Clackamas. Ac cording to Adams, all of the ar tists were very pleased at the attention they were given, having felt ignored in the past. Position Open Another position has opened in the ASG. Daryl Woods, who previously held the office of art director, officially resigned Tuesday. According to ASG President Eric Etzel, Woods bowed put because “he just didn’t have the time required for the job.” The. position required a minimum of five hours weekly spend working bn ASG art work, as well as attending the ASG meetings held at noon on Thursday. A tuition waiver is available for the new art direc tor. Interested students may con tact Eric Etzel at the ASG of fice, or call extension 247.
