briefs Dairy wins The College Dairy Judging Team placed well at recent competitions in California and in Portland. At California State University at Chico, the team judged 10 classes of cows and five classes of oral reasons, Gerry Hanson had the high individual total. The team total was third in oral reasons and overall placings. On Oct. 19, at the Pacific In ternational Livestock Ex position, Portland, Cindy Steele had the high total overall in oral reasons. The team placed second overall. The team’s next contest is at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Calif., on Nov. 17. “We took third at the first contest, second at the second one, so we should win this one,” said Frank Kraus, team member.
