g) S Musicians, pantomime billed for coffeehouse Country f oik duo will return to campus Folk and country singers DeririisDoyle and Jim Britton will make a return visit to the College at the coffee house Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. The return visit comes after their hit album and grand tour of colleges throughout the northwect. The duo’s first album, “Chanticlear,” was greeted by universal applause while gracing dozens of radio stations in the area. Stories have been done on the two by the “Sun day Morning” and “Evening” TV shows. They have played college campuses across the Northwest and have played here last year. The coffee house, which has been designated “Family Night,” starts at 7 p.m. in the McLoughlin Theatre with a one-hour performance by one of the best pantomimes in the state, David Immel. “Ifyou ever wanted to see a good mime in action, don’t miss David,” encouraged Roby Robinson of the drama depar tment. “He’s one of the best mimes in the Northwest.” After the mime, the activities move to the Fireside Lounge where Dennis Doyle and Jim Britton will play from 8 to 11 p.m. Mime will demonstrate his art form Mime, David Immel will be featured in the College’s McLoughlin Theatre this Wed nesday evening. His perfor- mance will precede the cof feehouse taking place the same evening. Immel’s combination of his style with those of Letienne Decroux and Marcal Marceau, have a unique result. He has been described to create an interpersonal relationship with the audience which stretches beyond the bounds of contemporary mime att! hides. Big band soon The mood has been set for the Fall term Big Band Ball. As always, LeRoy Anderson’s 12 piece band, “The Rhythm Section,” will be featured. The attire will be semi-formal. Dennis Doyle, one half of next week’s scheduled folk dui Immel toured professionally with the “Checkered Comedy Mime Troupe,” at West Coast colleges and universities from 1974 to 1976. He has more recently per formed with the local mime, Scott McKay. They have b6en seen at various high schools and colleges from 1976 to 1978. Currently Immel performs solo mime acts and gives inf structional mime training in schools, institutions and civic functions. He is known for per] formances at “Art Quake,” the Lloyd Center Shopping Mali The Firehouse Theater, KATU television,- The Portland!Art Museum, and the Galleria.
