Throngs of bargain seekers mill past booths under the Bum
side Bridge in downtown Portland during the Saturday Market
held each weekend. For some tots, the excitement was too much
(center); for others, viewing from the sidelines was sufficient
Sidewalk and street corner musicians were in abundance as pa
trons browsed through the wares.
