Among the 13 girls who have turned out for the golf team, are six returning lettermen. They are: Nancy Bottler, Paulette Cerrutti, Patty Jensen, Barb Leonard, Marilyn Leonard, and Nancy Martin. The girls are rotated accord ing to their opponents. Only six girls are allowed to play against each school. When playing the tougher teams, the top girls will be used. Some of the tougher teams will be Madison, Wilson, Jackson and Lincoln. “Speaking optimistically, I hope we’ll be able to take the first three places at every meet,” commented Mrs. Cedros. The first match will be against Jackson, on April 11. Mrs. Cedros added that, “The personalities seem to get along well together; both they and I enjoy the situation.” According to Mrs. Cedros, next year’s team will have a .lot of strength since the top three girls on the team are all juniors. Some of the credit must go to a fired-up and much improved Trojan team. The Wilson strategy was to score on the inside, giv ing outside shots io some of the other players. This made it tough on the Generals’ top scorer Steve Turner. “We had our worst outside shooting night of the year,” add ed Coach Rooney. “The strategy worked for them.” It must have been hard for the Generals to realize Wilson as a threat, especial ly with the Saturday game against Jefferson or Wash ington on their minds. “In defense of the starters,” continued Coach Rooney, “I as their coach can only say no one wants to play as poorly as they did. We all feel that we let the school down and for this we would like to apologize. No one feels as bad as the team.” According to Coach Rooney, “Our competition will be very strong this year since we lack both experience and depth,” commented Julian Amaya, boys’ tennis coach. “We’re starting practically from scratch with just a few Minute And Read This Ad TEENAGERS AUTO INSURANCE Low Cost - E-Z Terms WHAT’S YOUR READING RATE RIGHT NOW?
