4 THE GRANTONIAN November 18, 1966 Boys, girls to swim in state contest After successfully competing in the city meet, the girls’ and boys’ swimming teams will trav el to Eugene tomorrow for the state contest. “A real good effort, with no disappointments” were the words Coach Carl Rubin used to sum up his team’s third place showing in the city swim meet. Six swimmers will represent the Generals at the state meet tomorrow. They are Jeff Pitman, Bob Mills, Bruce Rector, Bob Foster and alternate Bob Messer- schmidt in the 200 yard medley race, Foster and Rector in the 50 yard freestyle, and Bruce PaFker in the diving event. Preliminaries are slated to begin at 10 a.m. with the finals occurring at 7 p.m. that night. Wilson high school, scoring 104% points, broke one relay and three individual records on their way to capturing the city title. STRIKE!!
