A. Morrison, who passed sway at her
home near Oiennville Sunday morning,
January Dt, 1920. at the advanced age
of 85 years, 8 months.
Hers hud been one of the sweetest
and most beautiful of characters und
many, many friends deeply mourn her
loss. She was a pillar o f the ehorch
practically all her life, attending its
services to the very last, and one of
her greatest joys was in hospitality to
its servants.
Perniecy A. Hale was born May 11,
1834, in Kay county, Mo. Hhe was
converted and joined the Cumberland
Presbyterian church at an early age.
She was married May 20, 1849, to Rev.

Joseph P. Morrison, a Cumberland
Presbyterian minister o f the same
place. They removed to Iowa in the
fall of 1861, where their sixth child
wits born in the spring of 1862. Soon
after they started across the plains by
ox tenm to Oregon, where they re­
mained until 1 h 69, when they removed
to California, finally locating on her
present home- in Linns Valley in De­
cember, 1872, where she has since re­
sided.
O f the six children— Sarah Jane,
Isaac Newton, Thomas Chalmers, Nan­
cy Matilda, Rachel Ann, and William
Henry— three survive:

recently arrived here from the east,

home and fruit orchard on the heights *

Drain Wins Again.
Cottage Grove was again defeated
by Drain in a husketball game Friday,
this time on the local floor in the old
high school. The game was spirited
throughout and the visitors barely
managed to keep a score or two ahead,
winning the game by their greater
success in throwing baskets.
