THINGS I ('ANT REMEMBER I forget unpleasant things. An incident that brings a catch in my breath, a sharp word spoken in anger, a cut ting remark, are incidents that can only bring remorse; the quicker they are forgotten the happier I am. I remember a cheery greet ing; it's a tonic. I’m thrilled when I'm remembered on my birthday, a smile and kind word spoken by a stranger makes me glad, sincere praise is the levening in the bread of my life. These things I remem ber, bring them out and hord them as a miser counts his gold. I find it expedient to devel op a convenient memory, one that quickly forgets the un pleasant and clings to the happy moments.
