i -4 Clean Sweep of Main Street by Jaycee Members Made May 8 in Improvement Campaign Which Continues to May 22 Members of Cottage Grove Junior Chamber of Com merce are working hard during their two-week "Clean up, fix up, paint up” campaign. The project is carried out yearly by Jaycees. Junior Chamber members announced Tuesday that May 16 and May 23 are the dates selected for pickup of rubbish by the men. If rubbish (ashes, old papers, etc.) is placed on curb (preferably in containers) it will be collected at 9 a.m. on the afore-mentioned days. Rubbish will be picked up within the city limits only. Jaycees will use a large truck for the pickups. As part of their campaign, they cleaned up the city park last evening. Girls from six Cottage Grove troops and two Creswell tr<x>|>s are to receive the badges they have earned during the past year. Four eighth grade girls are to be given the Curved Bar, the highest award in the Intermediate Scout program. There will be a ceremony where the girls graduat ing from the eighth grade will receive their Senior Scout pins. The program will include the movie taken by Mrs. Cecil Beck of last year’s Cottage Grove Day Camp on the Herman Rudolph property and also films of last year’s Trip Camp into northern California in which four Cottage Grove girls participated.
