Lund, who is in service in Alaska,
expressed his thanks to Hebron

the Sentinel. He said in part, "The
papers are pretty late coming in
hut it's still news to me and I
really enjoy them. Now I can keep
up on things back in Oregon. I
sure miss Cottage Grove and all
the friendly people. I’ve lx-en do
ing a lot of sign painting. ... I
sfient only three days on skis so
far. I’m doing pretty good for a
beginner and really enjoy that
sort of training. I saw several
more moose so altogether I've
seen ll. Was about 50 feet from
one big hull moose that had only
one antler.
The snow here is knee deep
now, but the weather has been
between 2b and 30 above the
last two weeks and clear skies.
It's to lie zero tonight and the
high tomorrow will be 10 above.
I don't mind Alaska one bit, but
it'll be a lot nicer when Lois and
Stevie get here."
