He is u now operating the Men's Toggery, which was found ed in 1936 and is still in the same location. The present sales staff consists of Bill Helliwell, Frank Dealer and Lois i Dealer. Probably the meanest trick that can be charged to him was that he took the Parker dog’s hotcakes on one occasion. That was when he had been up in the Bohemia district for a couple of days without grub. In returning by way of Lund- park, he rummaged for food, but all he could find was a couple of cold hotcakes in the dog's pan. After he was sure his partner was not around, he consumed the hotcakes with relish. Bressler, propri etor of the Bressler Furni ture store is another old timer of this area. Before coming to Cottage Grove in 1923, Mr. Bressler ojierated a hardware and furniture store in Springfield. He has been in the present location for 25 years. Previous to coming to the state, Kem was a resident of Washing ton D. C. wot king with the bureau of census. It was here that he found time after work to attend a night school to study phat macy. He made one painful mistake on coming to Cottage Grove. He decided to decorate the store with what appeared to be beautiful colored leaves in the fall of the year. The colored leaves happened to Ire jioison oak and after gathering the poison oak at 10 a.m. Ips eyes were completely shut by 3 p.m. of the same day.
