It was fashioned with a fitted bodice, long pointed sleeves, high neck, and long, full train. A beaded ti ara held her lace edged, finger-tip veil. She carried a bouquet of white baby gladiolis. pink rose buds and stephanotis. The bride’s attendants were so rority sisters. Miss Sharon Grit tit h was maid of honor and brides maids were Miss Rosemary Roth and Miss Gretchen Thompson. All wore short lace mitts, and were gowned in identical dresses of White dotted swiss. made bouf fant fashion. They each carried nosegays of pink and white carna- tions. Gerold Witherspoon, brother- in-law of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were Bill Bryan, Dick Green. Jack Harrison and Cal Cox. all fraternity brothers of the bridegroom. The bride's mother wore a rose crepe afternoon dress, with white accessories, while the bridegroom s mother wore aqua crepe with white accessories. They each wore a corsage of pink rosebuds and stephanotis. A reception followed the cere mony and was held in the bride s sorority house. A three-tiered wedding cake, topped with a min iature bride and groom, centered the bride's table, which was also decorated with w hite syringa blos soms. Mrs Gerold Witherspoon, sister of the bridegroom, cut the wedding cake, after the bride and groom had cut the initial piece. Miss Marian Miller poured. Serv ing were Miss Gail Rist, Miss Bet ty Lou Kelly. Miss Barbara Wil son. Miss Jerry Dickey and Miss Marlene Frichtle. Miss Nancy Curry was in charge of the guest book. Fourteen members and one guest, Mrs. Addie Veatch. were present. Mrs. George Hohman, president was in charge of the meeting, which was followed by a social time and refreshments served by the hostesses. It was decided to have initiation on the first meeting night of each i month, but due to the first meet ing falling on the Fourth of July, it was voted to initiate on the 18th. The initiatory team will wear formals. A membership contest just clos ed, and the losing side with [ Wreatha Hobbs as captain will en- j tertain the winners. The evening closed with refresh-1 ments served by Beryl Shattuck, Ada Pitcher and Lucy Grable. I PICNIC SET FOR JULY 4 The local Townsend club picnic is planned for July 4 in the city ! park.
